Self-promotion, Self-branding, tips and tricks, how to send demos, how to get noticed by labels, how to build a personal story and stay authentic.

As an electronic musician, it can be challenging to navigate the music industry and get noticed by labels, promoters, and listeners at the same time. That's why it's crucial to understand the importance of healthy self-promotion and authentic self-branding. During the lecture Erik Kolbenheyer from the Budapest-based EXILES label will highlight tips and tricks on how to get noticed. There will also be an opportunity to ask for recommendations on what to do with your own social media profiles and how to improve them to increase your reach in music circles.

Erik Kolbenheyer is a media worker, electronic music curator, communications specialist and founder and A&R manager of EXILES, a Budapest-based experimental label founded in 2016, which focuses on artists from Central and Eastern Europe. https://exiles-electronics.bandcamp.com/ Many of the recordings he releases are made for charity (e.g. for NANE, Food Not Bombs, The City is For All).
